My name is Helén Andersson Sears. I'm a mama, yogini, moon gazer, coffee lover, sacred space holder, move your body every day advocate and yoga, movement and breath-work teacher. Combining over 15 years of teaching yoga and movement, with my background as a dancer and movement analyst, I infuse my teaching style with movement and stillness, breath-work and visualizations, seasonal rhythms and deep relaxation. I draw my inspiration from nature, moving my body, music, women, creativity, my Scandinavian roots and the ancient teachings of yoga and its capacity for profound healing.
I believe breath, nature, yoga, movement and stillness are doorways to healing, expansion, freedom, intuition and wellness.
I love movements in all forms. Movement is something that's been consistent through my whole life. I always danced when I was a child. Every day, either by myself or in dance class. It was freedom. Therapy. Happiness. Joy. Grounding. Comfort.
My yoga journey began in 1998. I started practicing yoga to heal a back injury from dancing. What made me fall in love with yoga was probably the breathing. I learned how to breathe. I learned to listen, explore and trust my body. I started to embrace the process. When yoga became a part of my practice my dance journey began to shift and take another path. I met Lynn Simonson, a jazz dance legend and master teacher that created The Simonson Jazz Technique. I started to study with her and I enrolled in one of her teacher training programs. This was a major shift in my life. Teaching, creating and learning about the human body became my main focus.
Living Bliss Yoga was born from a deep desire to share my love for yoga and movement, my awe for nature and inspire people to cultivate a beautiful every day yoga and movement practice.
As Gabrielle Roth so beautifully said: "my mission is to seduce people back into their bodies, their God-given power."
I think this is exactly my intention when I teach and share my movement and yoga practices with you. You are whole. You are enough. Your body is your temple.
